I first met Raven at a party in 2009 and immediately commented on her tattoos. We got to talking, and planned to shoot together, but it was the following year before we managed to do it. We went to the abandoned Atlanta Prison Farm and shot on a grand spring day.
Josephine is one of the few people I met online before meeting in person. We had a great shoot planned last fall at the abandoned paint factory, that was cut shot by the arrival of several police cars. We were told that we were trespassing, and let go with a warning. Another photographer there was not so lucky. He had already been warned before, and was arrested.

It took us five months to finally reschedule a shoot, but when it finally happened we got some amazing shots. I’m sure i’ll be posting more of them in the coming weeks.
Let’s start out with what is probably one of my favorite photos ever. My friend Becky’s back, shortly after her first tattoo. Probably shot around 2003, on 35mm black and white film. Becky, her tattoo, me and my photography have all changed a lot since then. I’ll go into that in later posts.
